Following the buyout of my original company, Eymer Design, Inc., and during my four years as principal and creative director at PARTNERS+simons (2000-2004), I became heavily involved with the marketing of law firms.
For most of the year, projects included: new corporate identity systems, printed collateral pieces, website redesign and the development of brand standards and guidelines.
During this time of year, we were usually asked to design the firm's holiday greeting – usually in the form of a printed piece but as time went on an online, digital version became the norm.
Over the years, I worked with Boston law firm, Wolf Greenfield on several offbeat holiday greeting projects. One year we produced a Mad Magazine fold-out card that was illustrated by Al Jaffee, himself.
Last year, we produced a faux recipe box with recipes for a multi-course holiday meal. Each recipe card represented one of the IP (Intellectual Property) firm's practice groups.
Sadly, this year the phone did not ring. It was around Thanksgiving that I inquired and learned that the WG marketing team had gone elsewhere and without me.
However, a couple of days ago I received an email directing me to their new online holiday greeting. Wow! It is cool! In fact, it is REALLY COOL!
