The Hoodies of Cohasset's Sandy Beach

Today, Selene and I are both wearing our awesome Sandy Beach hooded sweatshirts. At your earliest opportunity, we highly recommend purchasing one for yourself, your friends, and anyone who has an appreciation for Boston's South Shore.

TIP:
We also suggest that as quickly as possible, pick up an indelible pen and write your name on it. For if you are like our family, items like this often disappear, only to find themselves covering another family member's shoulders (accidentally, of course).

Because we run a local business, we are consistently asked to participate in community-based fundraising projects. In some cases, this means writing a check. However, our preferred means of contributing is by offering EYMER BRAND Laboratories + Think Tank's savvy marketing expertise in place of money.

Through our marketing efforts, we have supported the Cohasset Education Foundation (CEF), Scituate/Cohasset Youth Football & Cheerleading (SciCoh), the Cohasset Library Trust, and the Sandy Beach Association (Cohasset, MA) as well as other regional organizations.

For both the CEF and the Sandy Beach Association we have worked with our good friend Catherine O'Callaghan. In addition to her fantastically friendly, well-organized and time-sensitive approach to projects, she consistently demonstrates her appreciation for our pro bono participation. In other words, she gets it!

For the past several years we have designed and maintained the Sandy Beach Association website (www.cohassetsandybeach.com). Upon several occasions have also been asked to create printed marketing materials and apparel.

For those unfamiliar with Sandy Beach, this fantastic Cohasset landmark receives no support from either the town or the state of Massachusetts. In fact, even the traffic ticket revenue generated by illegally parked vehicles (you must have a stickah!) flows to the town rather than the beach.

Monetary funds are required to pay for maintenance (especially after recent storms), garbage pickup, and the summer of employment of nearly three dozen young people–all covered by the many generous fans of the seaside oasis, all supported by a hardworking board of directors.

So yesterday, after completing this year's version of Sandy Beach Association's annual appeal package, Catherine stopped by and delivered our hoodies to thank us for our hard work.

Wow! Thank YOU!

In the coming days, we will be making further updates to the Sandy Beach website (www.cohassetsandybeach.com). In addition to an e-commerce page where you may order your own beach "swag" (including the hoodie), we will be posting the schedule for this summer's oceanside Movie Nights.

Yes! Movie Night fans, JAWS will be featured once again! Mark your calendars for July 7 at dusk (weather permitting).

For more information and to find out how you can help, visit the beach website. If you would like to purchase one of these great hoodies, email: info@cohassetsandybeach.com.
