EYMER BRAND Laboratories + Think Tank recently completed two t-shirt projects.
The first, a pro bono project for our community beach (cohassetsandybeach.com), the second, a tribute to our dear friend Wendy May Andrew who recently passed away following a long and brave fight with cancer.
For the Sandy Beach Association's heavy-duty white cotton 'T' we used local silk screeners, Goodwin Graphics. It always makes us feel good when we can use a local shop. Besides, being a pleasure to work with, Ronnie Goodwin and his team do an excellent job, always.
The second shirt, "Suck It Up Cupcake", will be distributed to guests during a July 9, memorial service near her Florida hometown.
This phrase was a favorite line of Wendy's. Whether a child, adult, family member or work colleague, any general whines or complaints might receive this as Wendy's reply if she were within earshot.
As it states in her obituary, "Wendy encouraged us all to never fear our challenges, to live life to the fullest and to love God by loving each other." To emphasize this mantra, since her initial cancer diagnosis in 2008, Wendy completed over 20 triathlons!
For this project due to the tight turnaround and shipping requirements, we used an online source, CustomInk. Despite the fact that it was a virtual business relationship, the customer service was outstanding, and the project moved along smoothly and delivery was as promised.
The icing on the (cup)cake was this kind email received from a CustomInk customer service representative:
"I noticed that you have designed shirts that could possibly be for a charity event. If that’s the case, CustomInk would love to make a small donation to your team or to the charity itself on your behalf!
Please let me know if your order is for one of these events. If you would like us to pitch in and support your cause, please include information about your charity event and a link to make a donation if you have one. If you would prefer a check, please let us know who to make it payable to and the name and address where you would like it sent."
We quickly responded and CustomInk made a small but generous donation to Wendy's favorite charity, ECHO.
There you go. Two nearly identical projects by two different types of companies. What do they have in common? Great work and an excellent brand experience. – Cheers!
