Upon receiving an assignment that requires a senior-level copywriter, Sally Sisson immediately comes to mind. Beyond her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor, Sally has the innate ability to turn dry and hum-drum information into captivating stories.

Sally and I recently collaborated on the building of sallysisson.com 2.0, her online entity. The newly launched website provides a virtual introduction, necessary background information describing clients and projects, and downloadable completed work samples.

Here are a few of the challenges for this type of project:

• Despite years of experience and many successful projects, it is often difficult for a 'content provider'* to search through archives to select work that will be most relevant to prospective clients.

• Occasionally, a third-party needs to become involved to offer either thumbs-up or thumbs-down advice.

• Designing a website for a copywriter is extra challenging for our visually oriented world. People want to see images.

• For a copywriter, a brilliantly written piece may suffer the stifling effects of poor design execution.

Here is the good news:

• Unlike a printed piece, a website has built-in flexibility. As Sally completes new projects, she can quickly replace those out of date or not receiving attention from site visitors.

• Sally's body of work is now comprehensive enough so that when discussing a potential project, utilizing a URL, she can send prospects directly to relevant samples.

• Sally lives in London under heavy quarantining guidelines. We worked together on the project using either SKYPE or ZOOM platforms. Nothing beats meeting someone in person. However, technological advances in this new normal have allowed work to happen from almost anywhere.
